How it works

  1. Add your students, pick your subjects, and set the school year and the days or hours to reach.
  2. Log lessons as you teach, with the timer or afterwards. Count the days out of the house.
  3. Check the Year tab to see how you're doing, and print the record when you need it.

Questions

Is Hornbook really free?

Yes, with every feature. The app shows ads, which is how it pays for itself. Full-screen ads never appear while a lesson is timed.

We started partway through the year. Do we start from zero?

No. Add the days and hours each student had already done, and the totals and the pace start from there. The printed record lists them on their own line.

Does Hornbook know my state's law?

You set the target yourself: 180 days, hours such as Missouri's 1,000, or anything else. Homeschool laws differ from state to state and change, so check your state's current rules; Hornbook keeps the record they ask for.
